Ref. #5: Modern eco-design villa with sea view

This development combines eco-design with modern architecture and presents a new cool approach to tropical living. The project wil consist of 18 exclusive villas using the key principles of eco-design to ensure a low impact on the environment and incorporating building products, technology, materials and designs that promote eco-balance. Sun, heat, light, air and water are all elements that are considered in the design to ensure high energy efficiency, low maintenance and a healthier lifestyle. The villas' pitched roofs are planted with grass which creates a thermal mass aiding the cooling of the interior. Similarly, the reflecting pools help draw air through the buiilding, creating cooling breezes. Natural light is also maximised, while there is natural shading from the trees. The 3 bedroom villas have a strong L-shaped design that allows the integration of the extended swimming-pool into the building. The accomodation is split over three floors with the ground floor offering living and dining areas, kitchen and double bedroom with en-suite looking directly down the line of the pool. Open stairs lead to the upper storey where there is a second double bedroon with en-suite. The third bedrioom is situated on the lower level, again with en-suite. As with all villas, there are maids' quarters and ample parking.
